MSX International Acquires Sewells Group to Form Largest Global Provider of Retail Solutions to Automotive OEMs, Dealers

DETROIT, March 21, 2016 – MSX International (MSXI), a leading global business process outsourcing company, today announced it has acquired Australian-based Sewells Group, an automotive retail training, dealer process improvement, and outsourcing enterprise. As a result, MSXI will extend Sewells Group services to its broad customer base in the Americas and Europe, and Sewells Group will leverage MSXI’s offerings for the Asia-Pacific, Africa and Middle East markets, forming a single, global, comprehensive services solution for automakers and their dealer networks.

As automotive OEMs continue to develop their global capabilities in response to market opportunities, this transaction helps address the need for global service providers that match their geographic reach. MSXI’s expertise in warranty, technical and after-sales solutions combined with Sewells Group’s focus on retail business management, operational efficiency, and training provides an unmatched global portfolio for OEMs and their retail networks to enhance customer experience and loyalty, increase dealer revenue, and reduce warranty costs.

“Sewells Group coming together with MSXI solidifies us as the world’s largest provider of retail solutions to automotive OEMs and their dealers,” said Fred Minturn, CEO of MSXI. “Globalization continues to drive change in the automotive industry, and OEMs are looking to partner with suppliers that can service their needs worldwide. Together with our strong operations in North America and Europe, Sewells Group provides us with diversified and truly international opportunities to enhance value creation for our combined customer base.”

Sewells Group currently employs about 500 people in offices located throughout Asia-Pacific, Africa and The Middle East. The acquisition brings MSXI’s total size to 6,000 employees operating in 80 countries, adding to its current 30 offices throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Sewells Group will operate as a subsidiary of MSXI.

“The MSXI and Sewells Group partnership is a logical step for both businesses,” said Michael Boneham, executive chairman of Sewells Group. “There are tremendous opportunities ahead as the two organizations come together. We plan to align and synergize our products and services for the benefit of our esteemed customers and offer even greater value. Together, the two companies offer the most compelling global end-to-end service offering for the automotive industry across all aspects of retail network performance.”
